Russ Peterman, President, called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m.

 

Board Members present - Russ Peterman, President; Lisa Morris, Secretary; Steve Morris, Restrictions; Patricia Hightower, Treasurer and Ed Pastor, Water.

 

Association Members present: Vickie Pavlovich

 

Guests:  Dr. Henry Carr

 

Prior to the business meeting, Dr. Carr discussed the planned roadway improvement projects underway and planned by GTEC.  Dr. Carr serves on the Georgetown Economic Development Commission and is also Vice-Chair of the Georgetown 4(b) Transportation Enhancement Corporation (GTEC). GTEC meets the third Wednesday of every month.

 

Some of the projects reviewed were:

 

·         A turnaround at I-35 and Williams Drive is scheduled for completion in the 3rd calendar quarter of FY04.  FY04 starts in October.

·         The Rivery Bridge approach is scheduled for completion by early November.

·         A third lane on the I-35 service road at the Rivery entrance is almost completed.

·         Highway 29 changes and the addition of future roads in and around the Wolf Ranch Project.

·         Widening of Highway 29 from Highway 130 to the residential part of Georgetown (but not through town).

·         Improvements to I-35 access to businesses located on the southbound service road north of Williams Drive.

·         Improved bridge and access to N. Austin Avenue at I-35 connecting to Interloop.

·         Grade level improvements for a truck route will be made where County Road 110 intersects with the Interloop.

·         An arterial connection from Highway 130 to the Interloop will be developed.

 

Approval of Minutes - The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed. Steve moved to accept the minutes as submitted.  Pat seconded and the motion carried.

·         The deposits included $120.00 for membership dues and $5.66 in the Money Market. Expenses included $288.80 for printing and postage to mail the newsletter.  $7.20 for the July electric bill for light at FM3405 & FM2338, $5.00 for bank service charge, and $27.44 in supplies for the National Night Out Block Party.

 

Restrictions Report

 

·         Mr. Brown, property owner at the corner of FM3405 and FM2338, has discontinued construction of a campground.

·         A letter will be sent to David Hays, County Commissioner, requesting cleanup of property previously occupied by Burris Trucking Company.

·         There have been reports of shotgun blasts in the area probably due to the start of dove season.

·         There are continued reports of excessive barking from the dogs at the Happy Trails kennel on FM2338.

 

Security Report

 

·         The Block Party for National Night Out was held on August 5th.  Twenty homeowners attended the party.  Sgt. Eugene Hutchinson also attended.

 

Membership/Communications Report

 

·         Eleven new members were recruited.

·         Ten newsletters were returned as undeliverable.  The next newsletter is scheduled for mailing in mid-October.  It will be mailed to members only.

·         Mr. Redoutey is developing a new web-site for NLLOA at http://www.north-lake.org/.

 

 

Roads / Trash Report

 

·         Mr. Pastor will consult with Mr. Shoemaker to determine the estimated cost of replacing the fallen North Lake sign at Ridgewood and FM2338.

 

Water Report: Mr. Pastor discussed a recent change in the handling of repair and replacement of the pressure reduction valve.  The estimated cost of a pressure reduction valve is $65.  The property owner will incur the cost for replacement.  Mr. Pastor is also the President of the Board of Directors for Chisholm Trail SUD.

 

Old Business:

 

·         Discussion of D&O insurance was deferred until the next business meeting.

 

New Business:

 

·         The next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 9th at 7 p.m. at the Wellspring Methodist Church.
