Russ Peterman, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

 

Board Members present - Russ Peterman, President; Lisa Morris, Secretary; Steve Morris, Restrictions; Mike Metz, Security; Delores Wallace, Roads/Trash.

 

Association Members present: Robert Redoutey

 

Guests:  Lisa and Nathan Ropollo

 

Lisa Ropollo, Insurance Agent, discussed options for Director's and Officer's (D&O) Insurance.  An additional premium of $785 per year will add D&O coverage to the current policy.  Another recommendation was to visit the Risk Management Resource Center (eriskcenter.org) web-site for information that helps nonprofit organizations manage risks effectively.  The board may consider an increase in membership dues.

 

Approval of Minutes - The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed. Steve moved to accept the minutes as submitted.  Mike seconded and the motion carried.

 

Newsletter Review: A draft copy of the newsletter was distributed for review.  Suggestions made on the newsletter included the addition of a membership form, notice of available space (business card size) for advertising, and a thank you note to Well Spring Church.  The newsletter will be mailed to all landowners excluding out-of-state addresses.  The newsletter includes the invitation to the National Night Out on August 5th.

·         The deposits included $20.00 in membership dues, $5.66 in the Money Market. Expenses included $14.40 for May and June electric bill for light at FM3405 & FM2338, $38.00 for renewal on post office box, $74 for 200 stamps for newsletters and $26 for B&E (North Lake) signs.

 

Restrictions Report

 

·         Mr. Redoutey reviewed plans to install a 60-foot tower for a ham radio.

·         Several letters will be mailed to landowners of property with unregistered vehicles, trash or junk.

 

Security Report

 

·         There have been four reports of mailbox bashing in Section C.

·         National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, August 5th.  The board will host a neighborhood gathering at the corner of Sunset and Valley View starting at 7 p.m.  All homeowners are encouraged to come out and meet your neighbors. The board will provide snacks.  Bring your own drinks.  The format will be informal and a fire truck may be present.

 

Membership/Communications Report

 

·         Three new members were recruited.

·         Packet information and signs need to be retrieved from the previous chairman.

 

 

 

Roads / Trash Report

 

·         The North Lake sign at Ridgewood and F2338 has fallen down.  A suggestion was made to request donations of time and/or money to rebuild the sign.

 

Water Report: No report.

 

Old Business:

 

·         The liability insurance policy has been renewed.  Further discussion on D&O insurance was deferred until the next business meeting.

 

New Business:

 

·         Delores will send a thank you note to Well Spring Church.

·         The next meeting will be held on Thursday, September 5th at 7 p.m. at the Wellspring Methodist Church.

·         An informal board meeting may be held at the National Night Out on August 5th.
