Restrictions Report
- A new resident on Valley View has inquired about putting up a 60-foot tower for a ham radio. Although there are no restrictions for this, the board recommends the owner approach the neighbors.
- Mr. Dooley on Reef Lane submitted building plans for approval. The plans were approved with an encouragement to build a garage.
- Ms. Visser complained about barking coming from Happy Trails. The barking is considered a nuisance if it occurs between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. A board member will visit with Happy Trails.
- Mr. Friederich on Woodcrest reported that several small goats were stolen. He requested that this incident be included in the newsletter and distributed via email.
Security Report
- A Neighborhood Watch meeting was held on Sunday, May 18th. About 20 members attended. Topics discussed were barking dogs, unlicensed vehicles, use of ATV's on the roads, and incidents in general over the past year. Attendees were encouraged to take advantage of the Home Security Check performed by the Sheriff's Department. Once the inspection is completed, the sheriff provides a form that you submit to the state. The state issues a certificate. This certificate can be submitted to your insurance agent. For instance, State Farm gives a 5% discount to policyholders producing this certificate.
- Frank moved to allocate $400 for Neighborhood Watch signs. Delores seconded and the motion passed. The signs are about $20 each and will be placed throughout the subdivision in strategic locations.
- National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, August 5th. The board will host a neighborhood gather at the corner of Sunset and Valley View starting at 7 p.m. All homeowners are encouraged to come out and meet your neighbors. The board will provide snacks. Bring your own drinks.
Water Report
- Most homeowners were not aware of a recent recommendation from the Chisholm Trail SUD to boil water before consuming. In the future, these recommendations will be distributed to homeowners by email and the North Lake listserv.
- Chisholm Trail SUD recently announced they would not perform repairs to the pressure regulator at the water meter. The homeowner is responsible for the repair/replacement. Following unanimous decision, Frank will prepare a letter to Chisholm Trail disputing this decision.
Membership/Communications Report
- Frank will contact Teri Coahran to determine if anyone has been designated to take over the responsibility of maintaining the website.
Roads / Trash Report
- Recent reports of old vehicles and yards with lots of trash. A letter will be sent to the owners.
- North Lake signs need to be painted - Mr. Isom Shoemaker agreed to paint the letters. Don Wallace, Bill Hightower and Steve Morris volunteered to remove the letters. A decision was made to use reflective paint on the letters.
Old Business:
- The liability insurance policy has been renewed. This policy does not cover Directors and Officers. Frank recommended that Russ obtain D&O coverage as soon as possible.
New Business:
- The board decided against purchasing a printer. Future printing will be purchased from available print/copy businesses.
- The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 15th at 7 p.m. at the Wellspring Methodist Church.
- Starting in August, the board will meet on the first Thursday of the month, August 7th at 7 p.m. The boardroom at the Wellspring Methodist Church has been reserved for the first Thursday of the month for the remainder of the calendar year.
The meeting adjourned at 9 p.m.
